Manage course sections

Updated 17 Jan 2024

You can create a course group to manage multiple sections of the same course. A course group contains:

  • A coordinator course - The master course used as the template for all the courses in the course group. Students are not be enrolled in coordinator courses.
  • Member sections - Copies of the coordinator course that are linked to the coordinator and are used to teach each section in the course group.

Changes you make in the coordinator course are automatically applied to its member sections:

The owner of a course group (the "coordinator") is the primary instructor for any member section, no matter who created the section. The primary instructor determines how much control section instructors have over their member courses. See Roles in course groups for details on coordinator and section instructor access.

Note: Modifying the coordinator course does not affect Learning Catalytics assignments in course groups.
