Automatic deletion of courses

Courses are automatically deleted one year after their end date. When a course is deleted, its assignments, student results, and announcements are also deleted. This deletion is permanent; a deleted course cannot be retrieved.

You will receive email notifications that the course needs to be deleted prior to the automatic deletion. If you do not want a course automatically deleted, change its end date to some point in the future (see Edit course details).

Before a course is deleted, you can preserve its content by:

Exporting or printing the course's Gradebook results.
Creating a copy of the course to use in a new section or new semester. When creating the copy, you also have the option of copying the original course's assignments. However, a course copy does not include the original course's Gradebook.
