Open an assignment

Use this procedure when you need to open an assignment either to start working on it or to continue working on it.

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Expand Due to display the list of due assignments.
  3. Click the assignment's Title.

The assignment's details are displayed. The details include the assignment title, directions, due date and time, maximum number of points possible, and links to any files or Resources your instructor may have attached to the assignment.

  4. Click the Begin Working button to start working on the assignment or the Resume Working button to continue working on the assignment.

If the Begin Working button is not displayed, the assignment has a future start date. (You cannot begin work on an assignment before its start date.)

When an assignment has two or more drafts, you must complete the drafts in order (first draft, second draft, and so on). Also, you cannot start work on a draft until the instructor has reviewed, graded, and returned the prior draft to you. On the To Do page, the prior draft must be listed under the Completed assignments list, and the prior draft's status must be Completed.
