Apply Writing Exercises
Some writing topics have Apply Writing exercises. This type of Apply Exercise displays a block of content that you read
and then answer questions about the content. There are several
questions on this content, and as you complete each answer, the next question
appears. The content remains in view as you work through the questions.
To work through an Apply writing exercise set:
- Display the writing topic.
- Click the Apply Exercise link or its Begin button to start an exercise set.
- Select the answer to the question and click the Submit button.
The MyLab lets you know if the answer is correct or incorrect. For an incorrect answer, the MyLab also displays the correct answer in bold green.
- Click the Next Question button to continue.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 to complete the Apply exercise.
- (Optional) At the end of the set, click the Show Results button to review which questions you answered correctly and incorrectly.
As you work through the exercise:
- You can increase or decrease the size of the typeface in the text box by clicking the Font Size icons, .
- If you prefer viewing the text in a bigger window,
click . The content is now displayed in a
separate window.
And, if you prefer working from hard copy, click the new window's Print button to print the content.
- Scroll to the bottom of the window to display
the Need a refresher? prompt. Select an option from the drop-down
list and click the View button.
- Clicking the Submit button submits
your answer for grading.
After you click Submit, the MyLab shows you whether
the answer is right or wrong. If the answer is wrong, the MyLab displays
the correct answer in bold green and displays an explanation of why that is
the correct answer.
- Click the Next
Question button to continue with the exercise.
- When you complete the set, click the Show
Results button to view which questions you answered correctly and
incorrectly.
