Writing Topics

Writing topics have Review Materials and Activities.

• Review Materials are brief, animated videos that summarize the concepts.
• Activities comprise the following:
  • Recall Exercises test your knowledge of the topic's subject through multiple-choice questions.
  • Apply Exercises test your ability to identify concepts.
  • Write Exercises give you the opportunity to show your understanding of the topic's concepts by writing a paragraph or essay. When you are enrolled in a course, the instructor reviews and comments on your draft, and lets you know whether or not to revise or rewrite the draft.

  Note: As you work through the Activities, the MyLab tracks your scores. The scores are also available in your Student Detail report. Student Detail report.

To display a writing topic:

1. Click the Study Plan tab.
2. Click Writing to display its topic groupings. 
3. Click a topic grouping to expand it
4. Click a topic to display its Review Materials and Activities.
5. Click an Activity link or its Begin button.

Your instructor determines which activities are required for mastery, and they are flagged with an asterisk (*).
