- For the Writing topics, the MyLab initially displays the topic groupings. Click a grouping to list its topics.
- The link to the Writing Practice exercises is at the bottom of the list of Writing topics.
- If your instructor is also requiring that you work on reading-level topics, they are listed as a subcategory under Reading. Click Reading to expand its topic list. Then scroll to the end of the topic list and click Reading Level to also list the reading-level topics.
- The Study Skills topics are listed when you expand the Study Skills subject.
You can work with the topics in any order that you want. Ask your instructor, however, to make sure the topics are not arranged in a particular order.
As you work in the Study Plan, note the following:
- To search for a topic, enter a search term in the text box, then click the Search Study Plan button. Or, to search the web, click the Search Web button.
- Use the drop-down list at the top of the topic list to filter the topic list.
To Do List: Shows all topics you have yet to master.
My Mastered Topics: Shows all topics you have mastered and any that you have exhausted (answered all the questions) but not mastered. These exhausted topics are flagged as alerts , and the alerts are sent to the instructor.

- Place the mouse pointer over the Icon Key to display a pop-up showing the icon legend.
Note: Your instructor controls whether all three subjects (Writing, Reading, and Study Skills) appear in your Study Plan. Your instructor can also change the topic order and remove topics from the Study Plan.
