Create and edit objective-based question only activities
Updated 19 Feb 2024
Objective-based question only activities present a series of questions to students in an order you specify, or in a system-selected randomized order.
The types of objective-based questions are fill-in-the-blank, Flash, matching, multiple choice, and true/false.
- You must use this type of activity if you want to include Flash questions.
- You cannot use this type of activity with the MyLab IT simulation player.
- Although you can add activities to the Course Materials Library or My Course, it is strongly recommended that you create all activities in the Course Materials Library and then move them to My Course, where you can set appropriate scheduling.
You follow the same steps to create objective-based question only activities as you do most other types of activities.

- Add an activity and enter its details. Select Objective-Based Question Only as the activity type.
- Add questions to the activity.
- Add question sections if you want.
- Add activity messages.
- Define a grade schema for the activity.

- Go to the Course Materials > Add from Library page.
- In the My Course list, navigate to the location where you want to place the activity.
- In the Course Materials Library list, click the box of the activity you want to move.
- Click Add between the two lists.

- In the My Course list, click Set Scheduling Options on the activity's options menu.
- Click Preferences.
- Make your selections. For more information about the preferences you can set, see Set preferences for activities.
- Click Save.

- In the My Course list, click Edit on the activity's options menu.
- Make the desired changes.
- When you finish, click Save and Return.
