Add questions to activities

You can add questions to the Questions page by selecting questions or sections from the Question Bank or by creating new questions.
The options on the Questions page depend on the behavioral mode you select for the activity. (MyLab Languages only)
The options on the Questions page depend on the type of activity you are creating. The Question Bank displays a Status column to the right of the question title. In this column, inactive questions for skill- and performance-based activities appear italicized and in red font. You cannot add inactive questions to an activity.(MyLab IT only)
- Add the activity (MyLab IT) or add the activity and select the behavioral mode (MyLab Languages only)
- Click Add Questions, and then click Select Questions from Bank.
- In the Select questions list, search for and select the questions you want to include in the activity. You can select available questions directly from the Question Bank or click View Questions by Learning Objectives. Use Filter content to display only questions of the type you specify.
To preview a question, click Show question preview and then click the question. Click Hide preview when you finish. This option is not available for LiveChat or Flash questions. (MyLab Languages only)

- To preview a question, click Show question preview and then click the question. Click Hide preview when you finish.
- You can include up to 100 questions in each simulation activity.
- For simulation questions, you also select which scenario to use. If you are creating a training activity, select T1; if you are creating an assessment, select either A1 or A2. All three scenarios cover the same skills but each scenario uses its own set of files.
- To set a scenario for an individual question, make a selection in the Scenario list to the right of the question.
- To select a scenario to use for all the questions, make a selections in the Scenario box in the toolbar.
- To add questions from multiple folders, select folders and click Add.
- After you navigate to and select the questions you want to include, click Add and Close.
- Click Save and Continue to move to the next page.
Questions you add appear on the Questions page in sections based on their type. Objective-based questions, such as matching and multiple choice, appear in the Standard Questions section. You can control how questions in a section appear to students by setting question preferences. You can also add your own sections.
Simulation questions appear in specific sections based on the application in use, such as Word Questions. (MyLab IT only)
- Add the activity (MyLab IT) or add the activity and select the behavioral mode (MyLab Languages only)
- Click Add Questions, and then click Create New Question.
- From Create New Question, select the question type you want to create.
- Follow the steps to create and save the appropriate question type:
- Drag-and-drop (MyLab Languages only)
- Drop-down list (MyLab Languages only)
- Entry list (MyLab Languages only)
- Essay (MyLab Languages only)
- File upload (available for dropbox activities; MyLab IT only) or (available for activities that use the assignment behavioral mode; MyLab Languages only)
- Fill-in-the-blank
- Flash® (available for objective-based question only activities' MyLab IT only)
- Hotspot multiple choice (MyLab Languages only)
- Hotspot multiple response (MyLab Languages only)
- LiveChat
- Matching
- Multiple choice
- Multiple response
- Ranking (MyLab Languages only)
- Select-a-blank (MyLab Languages only)
- Text match (MyLab Languages only)
- True/false
- Voice recording
- Click Save and Close.
- Create additional questions as needed.
- After you navigate to and select the questions you want to include, click Add and Close.
- Click Save and Continue to add messages to the activity.

- From Select Questions, select the question groups you want to include in the activity.
- To add question groups from multiple folders, select their boxes and click Add.
- After you navigate to and select the question groups you want to include, click Add and Close.
- Click Save and Continue to add messages to the activity.
