Define a pre- or post-test grade schema
Updated 19 Feb 2024
In MyLanguageLabs, you build readiness checks and practice tests with study plans using the study plan activity type.
On the readiness check Grades page, you can select or create a grade schema for a readiness check pre-test or post-test. A grade schema identifies a set of scores, each of which corresponds to a range of raw or percentage scores students might receive.
For example, you can create a 5-point grade schema (A, B, C, D, and F), where each grade corresponds to a range of raw scores (A = 91 - 100, B = 81 - 90, C= 71- 80, and so on.)
You can define a grade schema and apply it to an individual pre-test or post-test when you create the test.
You can also define a grade schema and apply it to all readiness check pre-tests or study plan post-tests in the course. Both procedures are covered in this Help topic.
- Add a readiness check, and then click Add Test in the Pre Test or Post Test area on the left. You must create a pre-test before you create a post-test.
- Follow the directions in Create or select pre-tests or Create or select post-tests to specify test details, questions, HelpLinks, and messages.
- On the Grades page, select the default grade schema from the Select grade schema list and then go to the last step in this procedure, or click Add new schema and continue to the next step.
- In the Add New Schema window, enter the Grade Schema Name and Description.
- To create the first grade range, enter Grade, then enter the lower limit in % Score from and the upper limit in % Score to.
The first grade range must start with 0. Scores in each range cannot overlap. For example, if you enter 0 to 69 as the first grade range, the next range must start at 70, not 69.
To add more grade ranges, click Add Grade. To delete a grade range, select it and click Delete Grade.
- Enter Feedback for each range.
- Click Save and Close.
After you select a schema, the defined grade ranges appear, including:
- Grade: The grade a student receives.
- % Score from: The lower limit of the defined grade range.
- % Score to: The upper limit of the defined grade range.
- Feedback: The feedback associated with the grade range.
