Emailing quiz results to your instructor

If your grading software displays an E-mail Your Results form at the bottom of the Results page, follow these instructions.

To email quiz results:

After you take a quiz, you may need to send the quiz results to your instructor. To do so, you complete the form at the bottom of the Results page:

  1. After you take a quiz, click the Submit Answers for Grading button at the bottom of the page.

The Results page appears.

  1. Scroll to the E-mail Your Results section at the bottom of the page. If you created a profile, the email addresses and email formats you defined appear in the form. (For information on creating a profile, refer to Using a profile to email quiz results.) If you did not create a profile, or if your profile information does not display, follow the instructions in the next procedure.
  2. Click the E-mail Results button to submit your graded quiz results (and ungraded essay questions, if any) to your instructor.

To specify recipients of and email formats for your results:

  1. In the My name is box, type your first and last name. The results email will be shown as coming from this name.
  2. Under E-mail my results to, click the box to the left of Instructor, as well as the boxes to the left of other staff members who should receive results.
  3. Type each recipient's email address in the box on the right.
  4. In the drop-down box next to each name you selected, click one of the following options to specify one of the following ways to send results to each recipient:
  • As plain text in the body of an email message
  • As HTML in the body of an email message
  • As a text attachment to an email message
  • As an HTML attachment to an email message

Note: HTML is preferable to text because the images that appear in your quiz results will appear in an HTML message. Also, text messages do not include the time you spent taking a quiz, which your instructor may want to know and which is included in HTML messages. Text messages are safer, however, because they can be read with any email program. Confirm with your instructor and others receiving your quiz results that they are able to read HTML messages before sending them.

  1. When you finish filling in the information, click the E-mail Results button.

Note: If you are a student whose emails with quiz results are not reaching their intended recipients or an instructor who is not receiving emails that your students send, see Spam blockers may block emailed quiz results.
