Update textbook associations
Updated 28 Aug 2023
The Custom Question Update Associations window lets you update the textbook associations of your custom questions to another textbook.
For example, when you upgrade to a new edition of your textbook, you can use this page to update your custom question associations to the new edition of your textbook. In addition, if your old and new textbooks are related books with similar coverage, you also might be able to update your custom question associations to the new textbook.
When you update textbook associations, the question retains its old associations in addition to the new one.
To access the Custom Question Update Associations window, click Update Book Associations in the Custom Question Manager.
To update your custom question textbook associations:
- From the Update from dropdown list, choose the textbook that you want to update from.
The page refreshes and lists the textbooks that you can update to in the Update to dropdown list. Not all textbooks have "mapped" questions, so you see only the textbooks with questions that can be matched with your current textbook.
- In the Update to dropdown list, choose the textbook that you want to update to.
- Click Update to change the book associations.
If your custom questions do not map to any questions in the new textbook, you see an explanatory message on the Custom Question Update Associations window.
When your question associations are updated, the Update Associations Summary page displays. This page lists any custom questions that did not map automatically. To update these questions, use the Custom Question Manager to manually edit the question's properties.
Click OK to return to the Custom Question Manager.
