Mini Sims
Some business and professional courses offer Mini Sims: simulations that help students apply course concepts to real-world business challenges. The simulations branch is based on students' decisions, so they get a different experience depending on their choices. When they finish, students see their overall score and can review their answers and the feedback on each decision.
Mini Sims are pre-built homework that you can assign to individual students to work alone or assign as a team exercise.
Students can do Mini Sims on a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Students' scores are sent to your gradebook. You can review students' answers and view reports on their work.
As students work, they get points for their answers: 5 points for the best choice, 3 points for a good choice, 1 point for a choice that was not the best, or 0 points for an incorrect choice. The points for each decision indicate the level of correctness and do not add up to a possible total of 100 points for the entire simulation.
Within the simulation, a student’s final score is a percentage determined by how well they achieved the goal of the Mini Sim.
In your gradebook, Mini Sim final scores are not the same as the in-simulation scores. Instead, the in-simulation percentage is applied to the total possible points you assigned to the simulation. For example, if a Mini Sim is worth a maximum of 5 points and the student's in-simulation score was 90%, the score shows as 4.5/5 in your gradebook.
