Earlier versions mapped to your textbook remain available when a Mini Sim is updated.
- Optionally select a Mini Sim to preview it.
- Select Add to add it to your assignment.
- Optionally change the number of points earned for the Mini Sim. By default, students earn 1 point, so a student who gets a 75% score in the simulation will get .75 points in your gradebook. (See Mini Sim grading.)
- On step 3, choose settings for the assignment.
- In the Assignment Manager, select the Assigned toggle .
- Choose settings for the assignment:
- Select Additional Settings from the 3-dot Options menu to open Mini Sim settings.
- Select Assignment settings from the 3-dot Options menu to change the number of attempts or the due date.
To prevent students from seeing the class average when they view their results on the simulation:
- Open the Assignment Manager.
- For the assignment, select Additional Settings from the 3-dot Options menu.
- Select the name of the Mini Sim.
- Check Turn Class Average dial OFF in Student result.
- Select Save Settings > OK.
For most students, a Mini Sim takes approximately 10 minutes.
Students:
- Select the name of the simulation on the Do Homework page.
- Read the learning objective, the scenario, and the information they need to understand the scenario.
- Select Next until they reach a decision point.
- Choose a decision and select Submit.
- Review the feedback on their decision.
The decision determines their subsequent path through the scenario.
Students might see Mentoring Moments or Your Boss’s Response, which provide advice or activities that help students practice course concepts. This work is not scored.
- Continue reading information and making decisions.
A progress bar lets students know how much of the simulation they have completed.
Students can select the play button to listen to the text read aloud, the transcript button to read the complete text of the simulation so far, or the information button to review information about the simulation.
- On their Results page, review their overall score, the average score of their classmates (if you allow it), and the decisions they made, with the number of points they earned for each decision.
Student can select the name of a decision point to see their choice and the feedback.
- Select Retry to do the simulation again, if you allow repeated attempts, or Submit to enter their score in your gradebook.
When the Pearson eTextbook is available in your course, the related eTextbook section opens when students exit the Mini Sim.
