(Direct integration)

Updated 13 Feb 2024

Mastering content has been directly integrated into your school’s Learning Management System (LMS), such as D2L Blackboard, Brightspace, Canvas, Moodle, Sakai, or Schoology.

This guide covers the steps for instructors to start using Mastering content with your students. Quick Start for Mastering students

  1. Open Mastering content from your LMS (Direct Integration)
  2. Get to know your course
  3. Prepare your assignments
  4. Report performance and scores
  5. Move beyond the basics

Open Mastering content from your LMS

Select a Mastering link from your LMS course, like for the Mastering Course Home (anything other than the eTextbook).

  • Accept the terms of service and license agreement so you can open that resource and all other Mastering resources, except for the eTextbook which has its own service and license agreement.
  • After an instructor has opened at least one Mastering link from the LMS course, students in your LMS course can open Mastering resources the same way.

  • You can edit grading and presentation rules for assignments, such as to allow students to rework completed items for practice. Apply these settings by assignment or category.
