Only the most recent announcements are immediately visible on the Course Home page (both yours and students'), but all announcements remain available until the Course End date unless you delete them.

Enter a Subject line.
This text appears in the announcements list on the students' Course Home. If you send the announcement as email to students, it is also the subject line of the email they receive.

[Optional] To see the announcement as students will see it in the Course Home, click Preview.
If necessary, click the Edit button to make changes.
Click Post Now.
The announcement appears labeled as in each student's Course Home until the student opens the announcement.
Before you post the announcement, select Also send as email.
Doing so sends a copy of the announcement to students, section instructors, and yourself.
Announcements you send as email show your first and last name in the "From" field, but show mastering@pearsoncmg.com as the address.
If you send announcements as email: Let students know that the sender address is mastering@pearsoncmg.com, and suggest that they add this address to their list of approved senders so your mail isn't blocked.

Make the necessary edits or click Delete in the lower right and click OK to confirm.
Only the five most recent announcements appear on the Course Home page.
Use Mastering announcements to create a simple home page for your course, or to link to a page outside of Mastering.
If you assign Learning Catalytics sessions outside of class, students don't see these assignments in their Assignments list. Mastering announcements are a good way to communicate details of these or other Offline Activities, and to remind students of due dates.
Create messages or instructions about assignments, which they see when they first open the assignment. However, after students begin working items, they must click the Return to assignment link in the upper left to see those messages again. You may want to create an announcement telling students how to see messages while they work, especially if the messages provide instructions for completing items.
