Upload or record course materials

The Course Materials area on the Mastering Course Home provides links to Pearson's User File Management tool. This tool allows instructors and section instructors with the Course Materials privilege to share documents and media with your students. You might consider:

  • Uploading documents such as a syllabus, study guide, lab, or presentation
  • Recording lectures

    Audio lectures (microphone)
    Video lectures (webcam and microphone)
  • Uploading other video and audio files, including screencasts

You can upload materials now, and make them available to students immediately, or at a later time.

Students can view or download these materials from their Course Home page.

For detailed information

See User File Management Help for supported file types, file size limits, upload space available, tips for recording, and so on. That Help site mentions features, such as student uploads and coordinator courses, that are not available in Mastering.

Notes:

  • This feature is not meant to be used for adding automatically graded assignments to a course. For these, you must create items and add them to a Mastering assignment.
  • This feature is different from the folders, pages, and files you can upload and make available from a page or from the main menu. See Upload content files.
  • You can incorporate uploaded materials into an Offline Activity for which you can manually add grades to the Mastering Gradebook.
