Set up programs

You can create and copy individual programs.
- From your Program Manager, select Create or copy a program.
From within a program, you also can select Program Manager from the menu and choose Create or copy a program.
- Follow the steps in the wizard to choose program settings.
- Select Standard as the program type.

- Enter the name your program.
- Choose how to create your program:
- Create a new program - A new program where you create your own assignments. Select a testbank from the list.
- Create a new preloaded program - A program with already created assignments. Select a program from the list.
- Copy one of my existing programs - Your own program from your current institution. Select a program from the list.
- Copy a program from another instructor at my school - Select a program from the list. The program owner must make the course available for copying in the course settings.
- Copy a program by specifying its Program ID - A program from a different institution. Enter the course ID.
- Select This program is available to students.
- Choose your local time zone and optionally select Adjust Automatically for Daylight Savings Time. Do not schedule assignment due dates for the late evening or early morning on the days when Daylight Savings Time shifts.
- Choose a format for displaying dates.
- Choose whether to allow other instructors at your school to copy your program.
Manage the removal of member sections from coordinator programs. Removed sections become standard programs and no longer inherit changes made to the coordinator program.
You can:
- Allow member instructors to remove their programs from the program group.
- Select Remove from Group from the table of member programs.
This step appears only when you are creating a coordinator or member program.
Choose what program features section instructors are allowed to use. Section instructors cannot edit the settings on this page.
- Select Grant full instructor access when the program is conducted by another instructor who has full authority in the course. (This instructor is usually registered as an instructor with Pearson.)
- Select Section instructor when the program is conducted by a section instructor, who may be registered as a student.
- Select Custom to choose privileges for section instructors.
You can set access privileges for individual section instructors from your Gradebook.

- Select Edit Ask My Instructor email address to let section instructors use their own email address when they email students and when students email questions.
- Select Edit course roster to let section instructors manage the roster.
Choose what parts of the testbank are covered in your program. Clear the checkbox for any material you don't want to cover:
- When you remove a chapter or section, all subsections are also removed.
- When you remove content from a preloaded program, the associated tests are removed and the dates are redistributed evenly across the duration of the program.
Choose how students can work on assignments.
LockDown Browser and Proctoring - If available, you can control how students take tests online:
- Select Use the Pearson LockDown Browser to prevent students from opening applications or other browser windows.
- Choose More Options to grant access to applications needed to remotely manage your school's computer system.

Select Use automated proctoring to use webcams and screen-sharing technology to remotely monitor and record students' work. Select your proctoring partner from the list. See Use Respondus Monitor Proctoring.
Select Require students to take IP-restricted quizzes and tests if your school uses proxy servers to control student access to the internet. Choose Change to enter the address range. See Restrict tests to specific IP addresses.
If the Study Plan is used in your program, select the tutorial help that students can access when practicing in the player.
Select Ask My Instructor to let students email you with questions.
In the Learning Aids and Test Options section, select Edit Email Address to choose an email address for student questions. When a student sends an email using Ask My Instructor or when you send an email to a student, this email address is automatically inserted into the email form
The email address for a coordinator program is not inherited by the member programs.
