Take tests and quizzes

Your course offers different types of tests and quizzes that you can take online:

Tests and quizzes usually contain a list of questions for you to answer.

To take a test or quiz:

  1. Click the name of an assigned test in the course home page or on the Homework and Tests page.  If you are taking a Quiz Me quiz, click the button in your Study Plan.
  2. Read the information on the "Are you ready to start?" page.

If the test or quiz requires the Pearson LockDown Browser, you see a warning icon and a Check Your Browser button. See Take locked-down tests for more information.

  3. Click I am ready to start to launch the player and begin taking the test.
  4. Check whether your test has a time limit. If so, you see Time Remaining: and how much time is left, for example, 00:26:43.
  5. Enter your first answer.

For math questions, make sure that your answer is fully simplified.

If you need to enter math symbols, use the Math palette to insert symbols or use special notation in your answer.

If you need extra data to answer the question, click the magnifying glass icon to pop up a window containing the data.

  6. Click a question number or Next and Previous (PCs or laptops) or the arrow icon (tablets) to move between questions.
  7. Click Submit or Submit Test when you are finished to submit your results to the Gradebook and update your Study Plan.

Important: Do not click the Back button on your browser or close your quiz or test without clicking Submit. If you do, your assignment will not be scored and will show as incomplete in your instructor's Gradebook.

The Test Overview page appears with a summary of your test results.

Your score is used to update your Study Plan, which tells you the sections or objectives you need to practice next and gives you practice questions to work.
