Mobile-ready items

Mobile-ready Mastering items can be completed by students on a smartphone or tablet, as well as on a computer.
You can use the Simple Editor to copy or create items that students can complete on a mobile device.
- Copy and edit publisher items that include the mobile icon in the Item Library.
- Create questions using Simple Editor answer types that can be completed on a mobile device. See below for guidelines.
A mobile-ready item means that the entire item can be completed by students on a mobile device.
Follow instructions for using the Simple Editor to create new items or copy and edit items and check the item content against the following guidelines for mobile-ready items.
- Parts - All parts must be mobile-ready for an item to be considered mobile ready.
- Images - Acceptable formats include .gif, .jpeg, or .png.
- Hints - Only declarative, clue-type hints are acceptable.
A mobile-ready item cannot contain any of the following:
- Links (hyperlinks)
- Socratic hints (hint questions) These are hints that require an answer of any answer type.
- Embedded media files
If you copy and edit a mobile-ready publisher item without following the guidelines above, the item will lose its mobile-ready status.
Such an item can still be worked by Mastering students on a computer.
