Use the Show Work window
For some questions, you need to show how you got the answer. The Show Work window appears automatically when you open a question where you have to show your work.
You also can open the window by clicking Show Work in the player window. If your instructor has not yet graded your work, you can click Show Work and change the contents.
To show your work:
- Click inside the empty entry box in the middle of the window. You show your work in this box.
- Use the menu options and buttons to enter and format your work.
- Click Save to submit your work.
If you do not submit your work, your answer is graded as incomplete.
Click on a task to get more information on doing it:
- Add a line or picture - For example, you can take a picture of your handwritten work, upload it, and insert the picture into the entry box.
- Enter math symbols - You can choose symbols, Greek letters, and operators by choosing them from a list.
- Format math - You can use templates to create fractions, square roots, subscripts and superscripts, integrals, primes, and so on.
- Format your text - You can you can apply styles and formatting to your text. For example, you could make a word bold or italic, make the type bigger, or change colors. You also can change text alignment; for example, you could center the text in the entry box.
- Add tables and matrices - You can enter and format tables and matrices.
- Add a graph - You can open the Grapher to add a graph.
- Add a figure - You can open the Figure Editor to add a figure.
- Undo or redo an entry - You can remove the last entry you made or restore your last entry if you deleted it by accident.
Click the printer icon on the bottom left to print your work.
