Copy or import a course

Reuse course materials from term to term. Copy or import an LMS course and then pair it with a copy of a MyLab or Mastering course.

  • Assumptions: The LMS and Pearson courses are copies of a parent section used in the previous semester and are the same integration type.
  • What's included in the copy: MyLab and Mastering content, assignments, links, LMS gradebook columns, and other tools are generally included in the copy. They'll work after you pair the LMS course with a copy of the MyLab or Mastering course from the previous semester.
  • What's not included in the copy: Some items won't work, and you may need to recreate them from the copy of the LMS course.
    • MyLab IT and World Languages courses: If you're using the MyLab and Mastering integration, you'll need to recreate assignment or tool links.
    • Mastering courses: Recreate links to adaptive follow-up assignments.
    • Integration types: When switching between the MyLab and Mastering and Pearson integrations, recreate all MyLab and Mastering content, links, and gradebook columns from your LMS course.
  • Grade sync: To sync grades for the same assignments from the original course, pair a new course with a copy of your previously used MyLab and Mastering course or the same coordinator course.
