Copy or import a course
Reuse course materials from term to term. Copy or import an LMS course and then pair it with a copy of a MyLab or Mastering course.
See Transition your course for details.
Most assignment and course tool links automatically migrate to LTI 1.3. To ensure this works when pairing a new edition of a Mastering platform update course, copy your previous paired course. Go to Diagnostics for your previous course and note the course ID. When you pair the new LMS course, enter the course ID you noted under Copy an existing course.
Links to eText sections, Scheduled Reading, and Adaptive Followups in a new edition aren't included in the course copy or the link migration. You'll need to manually add these links to your LMS course.
- Assumptions: The LMS and Pearson courses are copies of a parent section used in the previous semester and are the same integration type.
- What's included in the copy: MyLab and Mastering content, assignments, links, LMS gradebook columns, and other tools are generally included in the copy. They'll work after you pair the LMS course with a copy of the MyLab or Mastering course from the previous semester.
- What's not included in the copy: Some items won't work, and you may need to recreate them from the copy of the LMS course.
- MyLab IT and World Languages courses: If you're using the MyLab and Mastering integration, you'll need to recreate assignment or tool links.
- Mastering courses: Recreate links to adaptive follow-up assignments.
- Integration types: When switching between the MyLab and Mastering and Pearson integrations, recreate all MyLab and Mastering content, links, and gradebook columns from your LMS course.
- Grade sync: To sync grades for the same assignments from the original course, pair a new course with a copy of your previously used MyLab and Mastering course or the same coordinator course.
