Work in test mode with JAWS

When you take quizzes and tests, the player is in test mode.

You can cut, copy, and paste using keyboard shortcuts; you also can use the command-line language to enter special characters and symbols. See Use the command-line language with JAWS for descriptions of the keyboard shortcuts and the command-line language.

Once you start a test, do not click the browser Back button or go to other pages in your course until you have completed and submitted the assessment.

In test mode, the player displays the following information about the test or quiz:

  • The test name.
  • The value of this question in points.
  • The total number of points in the test.
  • The number of questions you have answered out of the total number of questions in the test.

The player has a work area, where you can read the question and enter your answer. It also has the following buttons:

  • Overview opens a list of questions in the test.
  • Previous displays the previous question in the test.
  • Next displays the next question in the test.
  • Submit enters your score in your instructor's Gradebook. The Test Summary page opens, where you can view and print your test results. If your instructor allows it, you can also review the test from this page.
  • Numbered buttons let you move to any question in the activity.
