Use Study Plan recommendations
The Study Plan Recommendations page shows you five recommendations on the sections or objectives that you need to work on next in your Study Plan. You can practice the recommendations and, when you're ready, take a quiz or practice test to prove that you have mastered the recommended material.
Some courses do not offer the Study Plan.
See Work in the Study Plan for details on how to use the Study Plan to prove mastery.
In the Sections/Objectives to practice and master list, the section or objective at the top of the list of recommendations is the one you should work on first. It is indicated by either an orange pushpin or a purple pushpin , depending on your course.
Additional recommendations are shown with a purple pushpin. In some cases, you may have to click a link like this to see your other recommendations:
On the right of the recommendations, you see how many points you will receive when you master the material.
You can:
- If available, click the recommended media icon to go to the Recommended Media page, where you can access media (such as a video or a PowerPoint show) to help you review the material.
- Click Practice to work on a recommendation without affecting your score.
- Click Quiz Me when you are ready to prove that you have mastered the material. (If your instructor hides Quiz Me, you see a Ready to prove mastery link instead.)
If you take a Quiz Me quiz and do not prove mastery, you have to practice again before you can take another Quiz Me.
If your instructor assigns Study Plan work as a prerequisite for tests or quizzes, you can go directly to the Study Plan for a test or quiz:
- From the Show Study Plan for dropdown list, choose the test or quiz and click Go to see only the Study Plan work for that test or quiz.
- Practice the recommendations and then take a Quiz Me to prove that you have mastered the recommended material.
When you have completed the recommendations for the test or quiz, you are ready to take the test or quiz. (In some cases, your instructor might customize the required recommendations so that you do not need to do all the recommended Study Plan work.)
At the top of the Study Plan Recommendations page, you see how many points you have received by proving that you have mastered a section or objective. The section or objective that you most recently mastered is shown at the bottom of the page with a mastery icon
From the Show Study Plan for dropdown list, you can:
- Choose Entire course (Progress view) to go to the Study Plan Progress page, where you can see a chart of how many sections or objectives you have mastered and how many still remain. You can click a section or objective in the list to practice.
- Choose Entire course (Chapter view) to go the Study Plan Contents page. This page lists all the chapters, sections, and objectives in your Study Plan and shows you which ones you have mastered. You also can do Study Plan work from this page.
If you use the Show Study Plan for dropdown list to view the Study Plan work you need to do as a prerequisite for a test or quiz, you see how many mastery points you have earned and how many you still need to earn. A progress bar on the top right gives you a graphical view of your progress.
If you have already proved mastery of any of the concepts covered by the Study Plan prerequisite, you do not have to do those parts of the Study Plan prerequisite. You will see mastery points have been awarded for your earlier work and the progress bar will already be partially filled in.
How you access the Study Plan Recommendations page depends on how your instructor has set up your Study Plan home page.
- From your course menu, click Study Plan.
The Study Plan Recommendations page opens directly if it was set as your home page.
- If the Study Plan Progress page opens, you can:
- Click on a section or objective number in a progress bar to open the recommendations for that individual section or objective.
- Click View recommendations to open the Study Plan Recommendations page, where you can see the next sections or objectives that you are recommended to work on.
