Use tutor services
If you need help with your course work, some math courses let you use online tutor services. To get help from a tutor, you go to a chat window with an interactive whiteboard where you can discuss your questions in real time. Tutors are available 24 hours a day
If this service is available for your course, you can open tutor services by clicking the Connect to a Tutor learning aid in the player window. You can also click Pearson Tutor Services from your course menu or course home page.
The first session of tutor services is always free, up to half an hour. If your school does not provide additional free time for you to use, you can pay a small fee for more time.
To use tutor services:
- Click Connect to a Tutor in the question help palette of the player.
- If you have already used your free session, you are prompted to pay for more time.
You can choose three different amounts of time at different prices.
After you have paid, the whiteboard appears.
- Enter your question in the whiteboard.
- The tutor joins the chat session and steps you through the solution.
The tutor services available to you vary depending on how your school offers these services. However, all types of tutor services let you:
- Enter mathematical notation in the whiteboard.
- Format text as bold, italic, and so on.
- Replay past tutor sessions
While you are working in the tutor services window, you can get help on using the tutor services interface.
